Had a heavy frost a few nights ago. First of the year. It was 1C (34F) when I woke up. I love the cold. Fire time! The night before and the night after it didn't get below 55F! Daytime temps around 70F. Still no rain.

Lost my cherries to the cold. Oh well... Day before yesterday it felt just like autumn. Yesterday felt like early march with wind and all. Today felt like late December. It is supposed to be in the low 40s when I wake up in the morning, which for us is about average for the middle of winter. This is nuts! But I like it, LOL. I won't have to do my exercises for the week instead I get to bring the houseplants out to the deck and then back into the house over and over and over .... Just about the time I get them out the weather gets cold again. Hell of a spring

My wife has been after me to cut down the cherry tree because she's worried about the roots getting under the foundation. I've been holding off because every year I hope against hope that we'll have a crop again... I think she is winning the argument

Cherry pie is my youngest daughters ultimate favorite. However I have to fight those late frosts to get a crop here. I do have Nanking cherries and Cornelian cherries which make great substitutes and are easier to grow due to the fact they are smaller trees or bushes.

Around 70F and windy today, enough to kick up some dust. Very high thin cloud which is hiding the sun mostly and dropping 5 spots of rain every now and then. Fog yesterday morning made everything wet. Mother Nature is teasing us!

It rained! Well, about half an inch if I'm being generous. Very nice not having dust everywhere for a while. And it has cooled everything down too, yay. Temps around 60-65 for the next week, nice. This will start any crops that were dry-sown so there may be a grain harvest this year! It was looking a bit grim for a while. Mid-May is generally the latest time for sowing if any decent yield is to be achieved. (Skips around happily enjoying the wet!)

80's in the day and cooling down to the 50's at night, but it's supposed to be in the 90's by next week. Summer is here, and I'm not ready yet.

Days in the 60s and nights in the 30s. Sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny. The fire gets lit at sundown and much feasting and merriment ensues! It is an awesome time of year!

Apparently June is now Monsoon Season here. Rained every day for I can't remember how long. Power went out briefly a few minutes ago. It's like twilight outside right now even though sunset is not for another couple of hours.

Please send some rain over this way, we could sure use it! And here please. Stop hogging all that rain! Nights in the 40s and days in the 60s. There has been sprinkles of rain for the last week or so. Combined with heavy dew, a fair bit of cloud cover and a sun low in the sky this has resulted in wet ground. A few seedlings have appeared. There may be some green feed this year yet!

Maybe the larvae all got washed away.

Night time temps around 35-40. Some fog, lots of dew and little patches of light frost here and there. Days around 60 but feel warmer when the sun is out, quite a bit of light patchy cloud cover. There is a tinge of green in the fields. Some more rain would be nice, there has been very little of it.

It nearly hit 70F today. Curse this hot weather , 60 is a nice daytime temp for me! The only thing I do not like about winter is the sun. It is always low in the sky and seems to be shining in your eyes all the time. I cannot work out how people at higher latitudes stand it but I guess it is a lot cloudier as you get closer to the poles.
