lonewolf: quiet day today, went to the local weekly market this morning. nearly lost it because of the pandemic and the lockdown but it restarted a few weeks ago. Aug 4, 2020 6:58:27 GMT -6
dirtdiva: Glad you did not lose it. I am assuming the local weekly market is consisting of fresh fruit and vegetables. What is the US we call a farmer's market? Or is it a regular store? Aug 4, 2020 7:04:55 GMT -6
lonewolf: its a weekly market that the farmers and their wives go to, along with all the locals, mainly fruit and vegetables but a lot of other stuff too from socks to bird food, there is a "fur and feather" auction too. Aug 4, 2020 7:50:35 GMT -6
dirtdiva: Yes that sounds similar to American "farmer's markets". Usually held on Saturday mornings to accommodate people's work schedule. They usually have fruits and vegetables, herbs, honey, farm eggs and even meats and jellies and jams. Aug 4, 2020 9:04:59 GMT -6
jim-Admin: there's a farmers market 30+ miles from me.been there twice in 13 years.bought a bar of home made soap my 2nd time there. the good produce was sold out.or they had gone home for the day. Aug 4, 2020 11:39:58 GMT -6
lonewolf: Farmers markets in the UK are Farmers selling to the public, usually on Saturdays once a month. Aug 5, 2020 1:35:36 GMT -6
dirtdiva: Good morning everyone. Beautiful morning here. Just got in from the garden picking okra and cucumbers. More green beans in a few days. Aug 5, 2020 8:21:59 GMT -6
jim-Admin: The farmers at the market I go to.are local farmers only.so at least most of them have time to set up every weekend. Aug 5, 2020 8:22:56 GMT -6
dirtdiva: Good morning everyone. Have a great day. Aug 5, 2020 8:29:46 GMT -6
