For now, day times are in the 40-50F range and nights still hovering at freezing (32F). Mountains all around are snow covered but most of the snow has melted down here in town. I expect to see more snow in the next couple of weeks, it's still winter here.

Yeah, I know what you mean by cold. It got down to 48F here the other morning! Brrrr. Normally around 60F in the morning and up to high 70s or 80s during the day. It has been another mild summer. Very few 100F days, one was in October which is unusual, and they are only single hot days before it cools down again. So much for global warming. There has also been a fair bit of rain. Every few weeks another inch or more of rain gets dumped across southern Aus and because the days aren't stinkin' hot it isn't just boiling away in the next couple of days. I have driven past a paddock (field) of dryland lucerne, you guys call it alfalfa, and it is lush green and over a foot tall when normally this time of year it would be struggling to survive the bone dry soil and high temps!

So is this what you guys see when you look out the window? It's so cold the snowmen are leaving!
