Full Title: Major Banks Close Over 3,000 Branches Nationwide, With Recent 50+ Closures from Bank of America In Just One Weekwww.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/10/major-banks-close-3000-branches-nationwide-recent-50/Short, Worth reading I consider this a red flag event(s). Consider carefully where and how your wealth assets are stored. Will you have control of them in the (near) future? Consider how you will handle your finances if/when your bank(s) goes cashless. Got Gold? Got Silver? Got physical metal including junk silver coins? Time to think about this is growing short. TWP

I wish I knew more about WHY those banks are closing. The underlying cause might help predict which banks/branches are more likely to be closed in the future.
If any of you are bankers, please give use some input on what is the reason(s) for this current set of closures? I can make some educated guesses, but I'd like to hear from someone "on the inside" as it were...

My guess is that too many people bank online now. The local Wells Fargo never has more than two teller lines open and sometimes only one. The "bankers" who help people with loans and opening accounts, etc. are way more busy than the tellers are.

Does that hypothesis give us any clues as to which banks/branches might be more likely to close in the future?
I don't have access to information about which banks have a customer base that is more/less likely to use online services.

I live in a one horse town.with one bank only.so I don't see it closing down until a collapse or whatever.but yet I don't see that many customers there, and most of them use the drive thru.

I'm in a 1.5 horse town, about 8500-14,000 population, including those outside of the city limits. We are the intersection of two major interstate highways and have a Lot of truck traffic. We have two banks here. Both have drive-thru access and the closest one to me has only two teller stations inside. At the moment they only have one person who calls themselves a "banker" and you're required to make an appointment to speak with her. We don't have to kneel in her presence... yet...
You might note that I'm Not a big fan of banks and I'll be even less so if/when the USA moves to an involuntary cashless economy... Can you say insurrection? Got barter skills and inventory?

Bit of a rant, but why not!
Expect more bank closures. It is because you don't matter anymore. A few years back business ran by offering either excellent products/services or excellent service. The really good ones offered both and did really well. But then everything got too big. Banks today exit solely to generate profit. Offering any form of service doesn't count anymore. If closing 1,000 branches will produce a minimal improvement in KPIs then they get closed. What are you gonna do about it? Vote harder? Don't make me laugh.
And the banks bribe govs to put massive amounts of regulation in place to stop any people-based banks starting. Of course, these regulations are in place to save you from unscrupulous people who only want to take all your money (ahem...an accurate description of banks IMO). So we end up with a big gov/business monopoly where the sole aim is to fleece the customers.
Don't believe me? You see the same thing with electricity providers, natural gas, food processors, phone services, retailers, transport companies. Everywhere basically. So shut up and pay up, peasants. It's a big club and you ain't in it.

So, as preppers, what can we do about bank closures? Obvious answer: Get out of your bank, taking your money with you, if you can...
Cash is being "frowned upon" by TPTB. It still is accepted by most (not all) businesses and most individuals.
Gold and Silver, while attractive, are harder to use as Real Money. Not enough businesses will accept physical metal for transaction settlement.
Barter remains an option, but governments want to tax the transactions, if they are reported.
Without revealing personal information or exposing oneself to government oversight, what can we do?
What are our options? Please don't paint a target on yourself, but where do you think this will lead?
Do you think banks will become more trustworthy? Is that an oxymoron at this stage?
I assume all of you understand the meaning of "cold well banking"...

There is a pdf available here which goes into the mechanisms by which the world's wealth will be stolen. It is a long (and for me a hard slog) read but worthwhile IMO. thegreattaking.com/Banks are doomed IMO. So are most large corporations. Why? Lack of trust. I was talking to someone the other day about cellphone service providers, he said "I use (insert corporation's name) because they are the least worst of a bad lot!" Not exactly a glowing word-of-mouth recommendation! Same with governments, no trust anymore. You can only dump on people for so long before it backfires. Ideally the backlash won't be bloody but who knows. As seen on this site many times, have your daily needs covered for as long as possible. Search out ways to extend these if TSHTF. Stockpile and disperse supplies, create redundancy in all your systems, learn news ways of doing things, have a reputation of being honest and useful, etc. I will recommend reading real-life accounts of people who lived through dark times. Yugoslavia, collapsed South American countries, South Africa/Rhodesia, even Donetsk etc if anything is available. Learn from those who have "walked the walk".
