DO BE AWARE that your home is also a fire hazard and you may want to consider making additional caches in places outside/away from your home. homesteadsurvivalsite.com/best-hiding-spots-for-emergency-supplies/I live in an apartment and therefore have most of my Prepper supplies in a storage locker away from my apartment. One warning about storage lockers; the good ones have a locked gate with a coded keypad to gain entrance. That keypad is vulnerable to power outages (loss of electricity) and does not, to my knowledge, have battery backup for either the keypad or the electrically driven gate. FYI TWP

I have had bad luck with storage units in the past. On more than one occasion I was not able to get to my preps when needed. I didn't really have another option, but now that I have moved past using them I do not think I would do it again. Caches are a compromise, any way you do it. That is why it's best to have several, all with different compromises.
