And the story continues... A word to the wise. FTC: Amazon/Ring workers illegally spied on users of home security cameras
arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/06/ftc-amazon-ring-workers-illegally-spied-on-users-of-home-security-cameras/Do you have or use an Amazon product or their Ring camera system? Think PERSEC and OPSEC, you might be (are) at risk. Even if you DON'T personally use this product, you ARE visible and ARE being recorded. Keep watch and adjust your routes of travel when you can identify such camera systems. Paranoia? Absolutely and with good reason. Read the article. TWP

That's why I won't buy Alexa or the doorbell camera.i didn't like the idea of Alexa able to do what it can, when it first came out.then I started to hear things about it that threw up a mess of red flags.like making suggestions to doing things, that folks don't need to be doing.

"Open the pod bay door please Hal." Anything you can do remotely, others can do better! Just because your wifi or bluetooth or wireless internet (or insert your electronic device here) is turned off doesn't mean it is off. Even if it shows as disabled! Physical disconnection is best. Removing, disabling or switching off the power supply is also good. Assume anything with a camera can see you all the time and anything with a microphone can hear you all the time.
