Power tools is one place I don't like to scimp on. I learned a long time ago to buy DeWalt tools. I can't tell you how many times I've seen or personally dropped a sawsaw or an impact/drill 1,2, and even 3 stories off of a roof only to go down pick it up and get back to work with it. Yes Dewalt is expensive but I've been in a pinch before and bought lower prices store brand tools only for them to not even make it through the day.
The best brands that I have used and seen used are DeWalt and Milwaukee. I have no problems with Milwaukee. It's kinda like a gun caliber debate with these tool brands. Either is a good choice. But if you pick one it makes more sense to stay with that brand for simplicity of battery changes.
If anyone is looking for some good quality cordless tools buy DeWalt or Milwaukee. These tools will last a lifetime or more. Not a shameless plug just my observation.

Now I understand that some people simply cannot afford $100 for a drill. If you must buy a budget powertool. Stay away from Baur, black and decker, craftsman... Yes I said craftsman..., Hypertough, kobalt, ryobi, Chicago electric. I'm sure there are many more junk ones. But these are the worst of the worst. I've personally used all of these and out of these a Baur impact has lasted the longest at 6 weeks of heavy use. A hypertough oscillating tool lasted the shortest at about 30 minutes of cutting drywall.
If you must buy a budget tool I would at the very least go midgrade with a Bosch, Ridgid, or Makita. But honestly your better off looking for a DeWalt or Milwaukee from a yard sale or pawn shop.

Milwaukee for me. Never let me down. Pity the larger batteries are so expensive, but at least I can recharge them from a solar panel. Mrs loves our Milwaukee chainsaw:

We use Milwaukee at work and we’re pretty hard on our drills punching through power poles all day and using them as rattleguns , also we’ve recently bought 2 cordless chainsaws and the do just as well cutting up poles as a petrol saw does . As much as I’d love to buy Milwaukee’s for home my budget simply doesn’t stretch that far so I’ve been running Makita LXt for home with no issues For over a year now

nothing wrong with Black and Decker tools, there are other brands too. I'm not a brand tart myself, I buy what works best for me never mind what the brand is.

I've had bad luck with every brand of cordless tools. Except for the big ones like cordless chainsaw and weed eater, which are Kobalt and just work. At the moment all my small tools (that still work) are corded and I have a loooooooooong extension cord, LOL.
Dewalt? I have an expensive Dewalt 1/2" drill that only works on full speed. I have a Makita that is on its last leg. I wear out drills pretty regularly, regardless of the make. The last time I bought a drill I got the cheapest one I could find, LOL. I've been using it for years and it still works fine. I will say though that the Black and Decker POS didn't last long.
The best drill I ever had was a reconditioned Craftsman from back when that name meant something. It got stolen.

FYI Dewalt is owned by Black and Decker, and both are made on productions running Bosche machinery!! When I worked for B & Q ( uk version of Home depot) I had to spend a week at the Black and Decker factory.

As a point of interest B&Q have now owned Screwfix for a while, if you can find it at B&Q you can get it 30% cheaper as Screwfix, it's order online, but still worth checking out folks.

I've got a rechargeable drill and a driver but that about it, I've still kept all my corded drills and jigsaw.
