Grub and Gear--Lessons Learned from an Alaskan Trapper is a copy/paste/format/source documented word doc of a post I saw years ago on SurvivalBlog.com.
It's a fascinating read. The last supply list in it, he used as a fairly comprehensive make sure I have this checklist.
Note, there is little to no animal protein listed. Every year he would shoot, quarter, and hang some critters by his cabin He said if his fishing lines were bare that day he'd saw some meat off one of the quarters. So if you use this you'll need to add animal protein.

There is also a list of supplies taken by the settlers heading west in the early days of the US. Very old but brilliant in the way it covered everything that was actually needed. I'll try to find my copy.

Let me guess: Carry lots of dried beans, hardtack and salt pork.

oregontrailcenter.org/suppliesTo survive the long jouney, a family of four would need 600 lbs. of flour, 120 lbs. of biscuits, 400 lbs. of bacon, 60 lbs. of coffee, 4 lbs. of tea, 100 lbs. of sugar, and 200 lbs. of lard. These would just be the basic staples. Other food stuffs could include sacks of rice and beans, plus dried peaches and apples. Bacon was often hauled in large barrels packed in bran so the hot sun would not melt the fat. Each man took a rifle or shotgun and some added a pistol. A good hunting knife was essential. Farm implements such as a plow, shovel, scythe, rake, hoe; plus carpentry tools - saw, broad axe, mallet, plane. Seeds for corn, wheat and other crops.
The attachment "What They Packed For The California Trail in the 1800s" was downloaded and reformatted by me pre-Y2K. This was before providing the source URL was insisted upon. you can find a number of similar lists if you spend the time searching.

An expanded version of wolfbrother 's doc file. www.happypreppers.com/Pioneers.htmlGot some good info there. I still can't find the other one. It included window glass in the supplies list which I had never thought of. It might be worthwhile having some clear plastic, acrylic or similar, or spare windows stacked away. Cardboard doesn't last long and both it and plywood make it very dark inside.
