because of the Colonial Pipeline shutdown I went out and bought 3-5 gallon gas cans. that'll give me a extra 15 gallons when needed.im not sure.but I think the gas tank is between a 12 to 15 gallon tank. that'll give me a long distance if I have to get out of town.

I've been looking at jerry cans. I'm not real thrilled with the 5 gallon cans I have, they are really hard to pour from into a car gas tank.
But Man Oh Man are the good jerry cans expensive!!! Even the Harbor Freight jerry cans are around 44 bucks.

I always keep 5 x 20 litre (5.28 gallon) jerry cans of fuel, 3 for my diesel 4wd, and 2 for my unleaded sedan or generator. Not a lot, but that 60l of diesel will get me to my retreat and back under normal conditions.

But Man Oh Man are the good jerry cans expensive!!! Over here the good metal German/NATO/mil-spec ones cost $70 Australian dollars!!!! ( mutter, grumble, etc) But they are good value at any price. They last for decades, can be left out in the sun with no problems and the only maintenance is to replace the seal every 10 years! I think you guys can get cheaper metal ones of the same design but they rust easily. The plastic ones are cheaper but not as good IMO. I use these. They are good and empty the can fairly quickly but you need to hold the can while it empties and they do weigh a bit when full. Some people recommend these, a jiggle siphon, but I haven't bought one yet. I usually siphon with generic clear 1/2 inch plastic hose but it only lasts a few years before it goes brittle. Fuel grade hose would probably last longer. There are also some pumps which fit onto the spout and let you pump the fuel out. Not sure how robust they are.

Interesting comment from Catturd. Makes you think! Hmmm.
"Let me get this straight.
Suddenly, going into summer vacation season, there’s an unheard of cyber attack that totally shuts down 1/3 of the countries gas supply (almost all red states with no COVID restrictions) - and the Biden regime is blaming Russia?"

What the "experts" are saying is that these cyber terrorists often operate with impunity in Russia, so while the government isn't directly involved, they are complicitly involved by not cracking down on the perpetrators.
