Gee, some common sense for a change! Duh! What happened in Wuhan? Why questions still linger on the origin of the coronavirus A lack of transparency from Chinese officials and looming geopolitical consequences have damaged the credibility of a WHO-led inquiry into how the virus that causes COVID-19 originated. Lesley Stahl reports.

IMO it was an accidental leak from someone doing coronavirus (the type of virus, not this disease) vaccine research. Probably a western owned company who did the work in China because it costs less there. Bioweapon? Don't make me laugh. Rates right down low with the most pathetic bioweapons ever. Didn't stop the idiots from whipping it up into the "most deadly disease ever" just to cover for more bloody laws. Gotta keep the peasants in line somehow, all these bread and circuses are costing too much!

I am in the camp with kelabar. I think someone was doing research and had a leak. They can do all the inquiries they want but we will never know the truth. I think for many it has shown the fragility of the illusion of civility in our society and how fast that can break down and survival mode dominates.

Yep I think it was an accidental release as well that got into the local wildlife and from there to the wet markets. We need to remember, there are still many areas of the world who enjoy 'bushmeat' in all it's variety and that carries risk, of which Covid-19 is one of many.
However, having seen myself how awful this disease can be and what happened locally, I don't think my government went at it hard enough, or fast enough. Of the 10 over 70's I know personally who caught Covid, 7 died. I don't think those sort of odds should be sniffed at. Barely a few weeks ago, my local hospital, a large 1200 bed, state of the art medical care facility was almost overwhelmed with Covid + admissions. They turned operating theatres into emergency ICU's and non Covid emergencies were being transferred or diverted to other hospitals as there was simple not the space or staff to treat them. So to think for one second this disease is one that can be denigrated and treated with contempt is just dumb. If you think about it, as a bio weapon, Covid-19 has been pretty effective, maybe not deadly, but it has brought normal life to halt, and done untold damage and had a negative effect on world economy, except for PPE manufacturers and a number of big pharma who have made a killing.

They can scoff all they want at this little virus but it has brought the world to it's knees and it's not finished with us yet. Killing some and permanently damaging others, shutting down countries, closing borders, compromising supply chains. I am curious to see how much it mutates and what the future variants can do.

The breed of bat they tried to lay the blame on for covid does not live within a 1000 miles of Wuham according to UK media, so IF it was that particular bat family it can only be from samples harvested by the Chinese government and stored in the wuham facility.
I have not fully discounted it as being an attack, though I'm 98% sceptical about it being the case, not because of the LACK of LETHALITY, but because what it has done to western ECONOMIES which have been devastated by covid whilst China has bounced back and trading even bigger than before. NOR have I fully decided that the Evergreen container ship jammed across the Suez canal was totally accidental. Especially as China / Russia are now pushing their quicker trans continental rail container service from Beijing to Madrid. Western economies are on their knees and russia / china are back up and running, that makes me go Hmmmm and raise an eyebrow.

From the WHO report issued recently, it looks like all hypotheses including the involvement of wet markets are all back on the table as, surprise, surprise, the Chinese have been less than forthcoming with the truth.
