Should probably say "Prime minister looking for a bribe".
But who cares, Google has been crap for ages, sum this up with: "BYE!"

Ehh just use DuckDuckGo. They don't track everything like Google does anyways. Plus you can see results that google tries to hide from you.

Apparently facebook has removed links to some websites in Australia (or something like that, I didn't read it closely). Everyone is jumping up and down and waving wildly from the band wagon saying this is the end of the world. TBH who cares! But Google has made a deal somehow to spread the revenue around.
The cynical part of me looks at this from the money side. 1. Aus media (possibly all controlled by Murdoch, not sure, don't care) sees the social media sites making money. 2. Says to Aus politicians "we want some of that dough for ourselves, make it happen or no more bribes political contributions". 3. Aus politicians strut around saying "we are taking on the social media giants". 4. Social media companies pay bribes political contributions to Aus politicians to keep the take low. 5. No change except some rich get richer.

Another DuckDuckGo user here. I've been using it for a couple of years. I tried Opera, but it was a bit too restrictive. I also have DuckDuckGo on my phone.

Opinion article on RT. "Australia is right to fight Facebook’s media influence, but it’s doing it for the wrong reasons – and not hard enough" www.rt.com/op-ed/515944-australia-faebook-media-influence/Some quotes: "Unfortunately, Canberra is hardly taking them on for the “right reasons”. In the “age of the paywall” this is primarily a battle about corporate profit, not principle. <snip> What Australia’s draft law is really about is keeping the journalism business profitable for the corporate media – and no other country is as notorious for its corporate media as Australia, where 57% of the country’s news are controlled by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp." Yep, Mr Murdoch's lapdogs, oops, sorry, I meant to say the righteous Aus politicians who are brimming with integrity (rolls eyes) are just thieves for the Aus MSM. Rather than make their news interesting or relevant (or even factual!) so people would be interested in looking at it the Aus media just get their paid thugs to do a bit of extortion. Sheesh. Also saw a headline that Canada has jumped on the band wagon and is doing the same sort of thing. I'll make a wild guess here that Newscorp owns a heap of Canadian media companies too!
