They are a great idea. Makes rotation of stored batteries very easy. Just start at one end and leave one slot empty. Always take a battery from the next slot and refill with new batteries up to the empty slot. I use a heap of AAs in headlamps, AAAs to a lesser extent. I replace the batteries in family and friends remote controls then use up their old batteries in the headlamps. Free batts for them and rotation of battery stocks for me. Win! Am thinking of making up a plywood box which will hold a couple hundred AAs just to make handling easier. Currently have a heap of packets of batteries thrown into a box. Not the most organized method!

i was keeping my batteries the same way.in which they were in 3 or 4 different locations.now all the extras are in one location.and the flashlights that needed batteries got them.plus the ones that needed rechargeing.got recharged.
