no shortages in the south west either, monthly meat delivery comes tomorrow evening, weekly market is tomorrow morning and we do supermarket shopping-mostly cans- every 3 weeks, no empty shelves in the supermarkets not since the covid outbreak anyway. I cant compete with Bills £600 though, our entire monthly foodshop wouldnt even come to that.

The state of Victoria is in lockdown, and they are having food shortages there. I'm in South Australia, in a rural area 8hrs from the capital Adelaide. Our shelves are ok atm. Our shopping is only a top up, as we are right for everything else - as best as we have planned for anyway.

God its not for a month GF its nearly 6 months supplies of food and non edible stuff wish i could afford £600 a month. As soon as I reached the conclusion that a second wave was likely especially after watching the morons flocking to the pubs and beaches and not social distancing I got the fleeing we are going to have a bad time this winter. so I've stocked up in advance.

I remember reading about abbatoirs and butchery lines having to close because of Covid a few weeks ago in the USA, so maybe that's the reason. There are no shortages here at the moment, in fact I got a good deal on rice, pasta, bread flour and tinned tomatoes in M&S at the weekend. They are selling all the shelf food 'they' panic bought when regular M&S branded food wasn't available. They had some really good Tuna reduced too, trouble is I don't like Tuna!

I'll eat just about anything when it comes to tinned food - Number 1 is Spam though. The cook will only eat Pea & Ham soup - nothing else. We've got tinned stews, soups, meats etc, nope, just wants Pea & Ham soup. That was an easy thing to buy - they say you need to get what each person wants to eat, buying tinned food for her was easy.

Lentin and Bacon is my favourite soup- pea and ham is just gross, if that all she eats she'll have a boring time post SHTF.

With you on the Spam SAH. I have a LOT of Spam. It's about the only tinned processed meat we like. I've even been known to mince it to make........pea and ham soup

At the moment, the only thing I can't find is rubbing alcohol. 70% rubbing alcohol appears on the shelves briefly from time to time, but I haven't seen a bottle of 91% rubbing alcohol since February.
It's expensive compared to rubbing alcohol because you have to pay a liquor tax, but I've been buying 190 proof Everclear. I keep a little spray bottle of it in my pocket.

91% Alcohol is just a distant memory Doc. I have some in my preps but the stores are bare. Here paper goods are still hit and miss as are canned goods such as Tuna and Spam. They come and they go and if you are lucky enough to be there when they are put out then you get some if not they don't last long on the shelf. I did make a bulk order for tuna the other day from Amazon and actually received it so we should be good on that and topped up again. Flour, corn meal and yeast come and go also.

We have a good bit of paper goods on the shelf, but not a complete selection. The brand of TP I buy only had 4 packs, and the brand of paper towels I buy didn't have the particular type we like. Not too long ago I didn't have that problem.

I lied. I forgot the ongoing shortage of yeast and baking powder. I have recently started extending the number of shops I go to with time caveats. First thing in the morning or around 3pm seem to be the best times to shop as it's quiet. For those of us in the UK I have found a little goldmine of cleaners and wipes in a store called B&M that has 70% alcohol wipes, sanitiser and spray cleaner. It also has a good stock of gloves and masks (both disposable and re-usable).

we used to go shopping once a week early morning, post pandemic we now go only once every 3 weeks and just after lunchtime seems to be the quietest time. we used to get cleaners and wipes in Poundland but they closed our nearest store, B&M are a good replacement.

Did a quick shop at our local Foodland; TP about 1/2 full, everything else was pretty well stocked.
